Someone else emailed me and suggested using TextPattern as the backend. Sigh, another technology to learn. I don’t know if I’m up for that or not. It’ll be interesting, but I will be very glad to have most of the site in one system.

I’m glad, and pained, that I finally moved everything into the WordPress database, and in the long run, it was worth it. Totally. A few bumps and bruises along the way, but it was a cleansing experience.

And a learning one.

I say go for it. At least in the database, it’s easier to manage, and export, in case you change backends, the odds are it will still use the database.
